Prior to 3 weeks ago I didn’t know what a deshedding tool was. We have an 11-year-old Bassett hound who hardly sheds and a Bashar named Dobby. When we pet Dobby we walk away with a handful of hair and his regular brushing sessions don’t seem to be making a dent.
Then I learned about the magic of deshedding tools. Your dog has a top-level coat of hair and an undercoat. Deshedding is the process of removing the hair from their undercoat. This can help with the amount they shed overall since you are removing the hair from their undercoat before they shed.

These are amazing! Definitely necessary for any pet owners to lessen the amount of pet fur around the home. Also really helpful to minimize allergic reactions too.
Aren’t they?! Happy that I’m not alone and someone else has experienced the FURminator? Such a great point about allergies. You just made me realize I should get one of these for my daughter in college. She has a dog and has been thinking that she might be allergic.
